Located in Burien, WA, this dormitory houses students enrolled in the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Program. It was designed to a Leed Silver level and features Rain screen technology. The three story stairwell will contain a feature wall and well detailed rail system as depicted in the sketches.
Starting out as a bland three story box, Al thoroughly revised the plans and elevations bringing three dimensional definition to the program and organizing servant and served spaces. The materials and proportions reflect the modern program and contain detailing which signifies residential qualities such as the treatment around windows which is a modern abstraction of shuttered residential windows. Construction date is to be determined based upon State funding review.
